​At Jumpshot Basketball Training and Academy, we offer Basketball Kids Club visiting us from ages 5 to 17 (boys), across Victoria BC and the surrounding areas (esquimalt oak bay north south central saanich saanichton highlands view royal langford westshore colwood metchosin sooke ). Whether your child is new to basketball or experienced, we have basketball classes for everyone. Basketball experience is an asset, but not required here at Jumpshot Basketball. Our mission is to provide the finest Kids & Youth Basketball Classes and Programs in the Victoria BC area. Although we focus on developing skills, at Jumpshot Basketball Academy its more important to focus on kids having FUN! Along with our Mission, our philosophy is simple: while learning and growing, kids should be able to feel good about themselves! Staffed with experienced professionals who love working with kids, Jumpshot Basketball Academy provides a safe, well equipped, positive environment. At Jumpshot Basketball Academy its all about fair play and having fun, not always simply competition. At Jumpshot Basketball Academy kids can be kids. Teamwork, sportsmanship, athleticism, a healthy lifestyle, balance, patience and perseverance, the essential lifelong skills that only sports can teach, are lost on far too many kids today. Jumpshot Basketball Academy teaches how to win and lose and, most importantly, how to have to be physically, mentally and emotionally strong The distraction of countless television channels, video games and web sites make it very difficult for kids to get out and just be allowed to be kids. Sadly for many, the repercussions of a childhood spent on the couch, with such passive pursuits, may last a lifetime.

SUMMER 8 WEEK BASKETBALL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT CAMP​
Our 8 week basketball skills camps in Victoria BC are designed to train, develop and challenge both the beginner level and experienced level basketball players

BEGINNER LEVEL PLAYERS

Assessments: Every players skill level will be assessed by our coaches during the first class. Players will then be grouped with players at their similar skill level and age groups so players feel comfortable during the entire 8 week camp on Sundays.

​Shooting: Your child will learn the theory, mechanics, and nuances of shooting a basketball, through demonstrations and form shooting drills, followed by live shooting drills, competitions, and scrimmages.

Ball Handling: Your child will learn foundational ball handling skills through drills customized to their skill level, progressing to more advanced techniques such as crossovers, spins, and footwork, followed by cone drills, competitions, and scrimmages.

Footwork: Your child will learn the importance of footwork in basketball, and how it can improve their game by working with trainers and equipment to integrate footwork into their ball handling skills.

Passing Ability: Your child will learn the techniques and drills necessary to improve their passing accuracy, timing, and strength, through foundational drills that progress to team competitions and contests.

Defense: Your child will learn the techniques and drills necessary to improve their defensive strategy when playing against their opponent.

Scrimmages, Games & Rules: Your child will learn to apply their skills in live scrimmages and games, including ball handling, shooting, and contests, as well as 3×3, 4x4 and 5x5 full-court scrimmages during skills camp clinics.

EXPERIENCED LEVEL PLAYERS

Assessments: Every players skill level will be assessed by our coaches during the first class. Players will then be grouped with players at their similar skill level so players feel comfortable and at the same time challenged during the entire 8 week camp on Sundays.

We offer elite coaching and competitive opportunities for boys dedicated to reaching their full potential. Our U10, U11, U13, U15 and U18 Tournament Team program focuses on advanced skill development and allows players to compete in High-level Tournaments (Lower Mainland & Vancouver Island). Players selected to play on our tournament and night league teams will receive an additional 90 min practice on Fridays.

​We offer a thrilling tournament developmental league for boys. From tryouts to the climactic playoff tournament experience, every moment is designed to inspire growth, teamwork, and a love for the game. All players in our 8 week skills camp will receive the opportunity to try-out for our U10, U11, U13, U15 and U18 Tournament Teams.

​We prioritize teaching players how to step out of their comfort zone, recognizing its importance for personal growth and success both on and off the basketball court. We prioritize the development of basic fundamentals while also introducing more advanced techniques that reflect the evolution of the game.

We provide a safe environment that encourages mental and physical growth, discipline, goal setting, and becoming the best basketball player possible. We provide an encouraging environment where players are taught to embrace failure and mistakes as opportunities for growth, improvement, and overcoming obstacles.
